Register your Starbucks gift card online at starbucks.com. Enter your card’s 16-digit number and the gift card’s security code. The security code is an 8-digit number underneath the protective scratch coating on the back of your card.

Non-digitally activated cards must be activated and loaded by a barista in a Starbucks store.

If your Starbucks card is lost or stolen, Starbucks may be able to replace those funds. If your Starbucks card is registered with Starbucks Rewards®, the remaining balance will be protected. The balance will be protected from the time you let Starbucks know that the card is lost.
Report your card lost or stolen by signing into your Starbucks account and selecting the link for “Report Lost or Stolen Card”. Your remaining balance will be transferred to a new card. Starbucks will then mail you the replacement card and it may take 3-7 days to arrive. You will need to wait for that replacement card until you can once again use your Starbucks card funds. Starbucks will not charge feeds for replacing a lost or stolen card.
Gift cards that have no remaining balance, including limited edition cards, cannot be replaced.
If your lost or stolen Starbucks gift card is not registered, it can still be replaced. Bring your original receipt to a Starbucks store and a barista may be able to replace the card. You must have your original receipt or proof of purchase.
The dollar value that you load onto your Starbucks Card is a prepayment for the goods and services of participating stores. Unless otherwise required by law, the value on your Starbucks Card is nonrefundable and may not be redeemed for cash. The value on your Starbucks Card is not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), nor does it earn interest.
Most Starbucks stores in North America including will accept your Starbucks Card. Some Starbucks-branded locations, including kiosks and cafés within separate retail stores, may not permit Starbucks Card payment.
